Aja Parham’s 40th Birthday Bash: Musical Inspirations

Born into a musical family, Aja celebrates her 40th birthday with a musical timeline of inspirations from Stevie Wonder to Sarah Vaughan. Paying homage to her influences and inspirations, Aja takes the audience on a journey through her musical life from 1984 to today, singing such songs as “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life,” “Betcha by Golly Wow,” and “Misty”.

Aja Parham has performed with the Minnesota Opera, Skylark Opera, Penumbra Theatre and the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts. Aja recently recorded with Kashimana Ahua on her album “Phantom Cries”, and has performed with many of the Twin Cities’ best jazz musicians as well as many well-known musicians from around the country – like trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis, drummer Francisco Mela, Wess Anderson, James Rocco, Arne Fogel, Jay Epstein, Doctor Mambo’s Combo, Margie Cox and the Minnesota Orchestra. In addition to being a performer, Aja is also a voice instructor and has been a vocal jazz clinician for several years.
