Autumnal Adventures over MEA Weekend
As the leaves turn to a stunning array of burnt orange hues and the brisk autumnal air settles in, MEA weekend offers the perfect opportunity to explore a diverse range of family-friendly activities in the Twin Cities Gateway region. From pumpkin hunts to park walks, corn maze adventures to parades and pumpkin nights, this guide will ensure that you and your loved ones find something to enjoy during the long weekend.

Join the Festive Fun in Blaine
On Friday evening of MEA weekend, the city of Blaine will host a Flashlight Pumpkin Hunt and Family Dance at Aquatore Park. Children and parents are encouraged to select a pumpkin of their choosing, make a s’more, and dance to the music provided by a family-friendly DJ. Come in your costume to have a chance to win the costume contest and immerse yourself in the Halloween spirit!

Take a Walk in the Park
The fall season provides the perfect time to enjoy a brisk stroll through a park, with the remarkable foliage and cool air providing the ideal scenery. Visit Tony Schmidt Regional Park in Arden Hills and embark on one of their walking paths, picnic in their pavilion, or simply admire the fall colors reflecting across the surrounding lake. Pick up a pumpkin spice latte on your way and bask in this seasonal escape.

Explore the Twists and Turns of a Corn Maze
Embark on a seasonal adventure at the Joyer Adventure Farm’s corn maze at Lino Lakes. The farm’s labyrinth has two phases catering to different difficulty levels, making the activity accessible for all ages. On the Friday and Saturday nights of MEA weekend, the farm also hosts Flashlight Nights, where the maze remains open in the evening for a spooky escapade.

Celebrate in the Halloween Capital
On October 19, Anoka, the Halloween capital of the world, will hold a parade with a lineup of colorful floats. Starting at 7 p.m. on the corner of 1st Avenue and Main Street, the parade is free to attend, and the town’s annual bonfire will follow. Enjoy partaking in this treasured annual tradition with family and friends!

Immerse Yourself in Pumpkin Paradise
Fridley’s annual Pumpkin Night in the Park takes place on the Saturday evening of MEA weekend. With glowing pumpkins lining the park’s trails, tasty food, costumed characters, and family-friendly entertainment, you won’t want to miss this fall festivity. Individuals and families are also encouraged to sign up to help carve pumpkins from October 13-17 to help Fridley prepare for this annual event.
