Celebrate Earth Day

Join Wargo Nature Center, Anoka County Libraries and the City of Lino Lakes for a FREE fun-filled Earth Day celebration, featuring the Sugar Bush Sound Garden. Enjoy live performances, make an earth art project to take home, delve into a Dakota language scavenger hunt and explore the Sound Garden in the lovely spring weather! Also be sure to visit our Eco-Fair, where local organizations and businesses will provide resources and information on how to be a good steward to the earth.

Sugar Bush Sound Garden

Created by composer JG Everest and co-presented by Wavelets Creative, Sound Gardens are large-scale sound installations that use 50+ small speakers to create immersive ecosystems of sound that layer and mingle with existing sounds in nature. Each speaker plays a different part of the whole piece of music, so that every step, every turn of the head, every bird song and shifting breeze results in a different mix and arrangement of the music.

The Sugar Bush Sound Garden will also feature live musical accompaniment by members of the roving Free Range Orchestra & Choir, as well as a song by Blue Lady and her love butterflies.
